Houston Writer Susan Burnell Honored With Media Award

HOUSTON (January 29, 2013) — Houston-based writer Susan H. Burnell, APR was presented with one of two
Media Awards by the Greater Houston Women's Chamber of Commerce at the group's annual volunteer luncheon.

Burnell, president of Imagination Ink Business Writing and Public Relations, is the author of a series of special
sections in Forbes magazine on Diversity in the Workplace, Women Leaders in Science and Technology, Women
on Corporate Boards, and Texas Economic Development. She also helped last year’s GHWCC conference
committee enlist Moira Forbes, publisher of Forbes Woman, as a keynote speaker.

Houston Business Journal reporter Molly Ryan was also recognized with a Media Award at the GHWCC event, at
which the organization's new chair, Karen Love, was installed. See

Burnell has written Forbes special sections since 2000. An accredited public relations professional (APR), her work
has also appeared in North Florida Doctor, Change Magazine, and the Faculty Assistance Program quarterly
newsletter. Burnell serves on the GHWCC Marketing Committee, the International Association of Business
Communicators’ Southern Region board, and volunteers as a mentor in the Cy-Fair Independent School District.
